Chocolate Festival

It can be sweet or savory. It can be liquid or solid. Chocolate comes in a variety of shapes, forms and tastes. Come find out more about where this craveable convection comes from and how it is made.

Creative Discovery Museum will present the second annual Chocolate Festival, celebrating chocolate's history, lore, science and decadence.  The Festival will take place Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 12-4pm.

The Chocolate Festival will feature several stations for hands-on activities.  These include: making cocoa butter lotion; sampling three different types of chocolate; three kitchen classes using chocolate as main ingredient; truffle making demonstration and tasting; and a simulated environment where children will learn how chocolate pods are picked, fermented, dried, roasted, and blended to make different forms of chocolate.  Children will also make a Jackson Pollack inspired chocolate expressionistic edible work in the Art Studio.

Artist support is provided through funding from Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga and Tennessee Arts Commission.
