Shouldn't Every Child be Stimulated?

Sam has Down syndrome. That doesn’t exclude him, though, from the excitement and benefit of hands-on learning. Recently, he joined Club Discovery, Creative Discovery Museum’s free after school program for children with and without special needs.Recognized by a national award from the Association of Children’s Museums, the program lets children of all abilities explore science and the arts with the help of Museum experts.
At Club Discovery, Sam had a great time with hands-on experiments, cooking, crafts, and teamwork. But what Sam and his mom really appreciated was that he could be there with his little sister, Riley. There are very few programs where children with special needs can participate alongside of their siblings.
With help from friends like you, Club Discovery is just one of the outreach programs Creative Discovery Museum offers. Stretching beyond our walls, our certified staff takes proven engaging lessons to kids in their classrooms and childcare centers. Please help us reach out to kids in your community with a donation today.
You already know Creative Discovery Museum is a non-profit institution and a favorite family destination with engaging exhibits. But here’s what might surprise you. Ticket sales, memberships and program fees only cover 65% of our annual operating budget. That means these outreach programs and special exhibits aren’t possible without your support.
How can you help? Make your gift to Creative Discovery Museum’s annual fund today. Your support will help make possible:
- After school and summer camp programs for children with special needs.
- Free admission to the Museum for over 30,000 disadvantaged children and families a year.
- Outreach programs supporting schools and engaging kids in their classroom.
- The Museum Apprentice Program, a teen volunteer and training program serving over 70 teens a year.
- New traveling exhibits from the top children’s museums in the country.
Creative Discovery Museum is more than a tourist attraction. It is a museum that fundamentally serves the needs of your community. Of the 250,000 children and their families we serve each year, only 25% are tourists from outside the area.
Please help us inspire all children to explore, innovate, create and play.
…Because that is how they learn best.
As an annual fund donor, your gift to the Museum will be a long-term investment in our kids, “sparking” a love of science, art and learning that lasts a lifetime. With your partnership, we can make Chattanooga the best place for a child to grow up. That is our vision.
