Tennessee RiverPlay
Tennessee RiverPlay encourages families to explore how a river works.
The exhibit features two new water tables, a tow boat, and enhancements to the climbing structure.
The main water table lets children investigate a lock and dam, a hydropower plant, a barge loading dock, a dam, plus a waterfall and rain clouds! The toddler water table includes a ramp, boats, a mountain and several water features for little ones to explore.
CDM's new towboat, River Ranger, was designed with Serodino Barge Company. It includes an engine room, galley and a pilot house. A simulation station lets children visualize what pushing a barge down the Tennessee River would look like.
The popular three-story climbing structure now has stronger connections to the Tennessee landscape. In the climbing structure, children will be able to crawl through a cave, pretend they are hang gliding and explore a hot air balloon.
