Finding renewable, sustainable sources of energy is critically important to our nation’s future. Through three hands-on activities, students explore how scientists are using plants, microbes, DNA/genetic research, and specialized processing techniques to produce specialized fuels and recyclable products. Each 50-minute lesson includes a kit containing a teacher packet and enough materials for up to 25 students to participate, which will arrive by mail prior to the lesson.
