ReImagine: A Cardboard Wonderland

Step into a Cardboard Wonderland in CDM's Fall Exhibit: ReImagine!

Welcome to ReImagine, CDM's temporary fall exhibit that transforms ordinary cardboard into an extraordinary world of creativity and exploration. This immersive experience, designed and crafted by our talented CDM staff using locally donated cardboard, invites you to discover the unlimited potential of reused materials. Conceptualized by Jessalyn Beasley, ReImagine is a celebration of accessible art and the power of imagination.

Beyond the creativity of this fantastical world, this exhibit also emphasizes the importance of recycling, environmental stewardship, and being a good neighbor. As you journey through ReImagine, you will engage in imaginative play and hands-on interactions; and even have the chance to leave your own mark on this evolving cardboard masterpiece.

Exhibit Highlights

ReImagine is divided into two enchanting areas: The Wild and The Town. Each offers unique opportunities for family fun!

The Wild

This vibrant, nature-inspired entrance to ReImagine transports guests into a cardboard forest, garden, and storybook world. Towering cardboard trees and oversized grass welcome guests into the Temporary Exhibit Gallery, creating an immersive experience where curiosity can run free. Families can climb into a human-sized bird's nest for a moment to read together or pretend play as fledgling birds. Butterfly wings provide a picture-perfect photo opportunity for guests young and old. In The Wild, guests engage with the environment, learning about the wonders of the natural world and the importance of preserving it for future generations.

The Town

Welcome to a town built just for kids! Explore the neighborhood center with nods to classic Chattanooga building facades. Then head to the builder's corner and become the architect, constructing your own creations to add to this fantastical world. Specialized tools help guests of all ages to create their works of art with a variety of recycled materials.
